Mackenzie + Wes got married in the most quaint, straight-out-of-a-movie town in Louisiana on September 21, 2024. I am not even exaggerating when I say the town these two grew up in is straight out of a movie because it is, straight out of a movie. The 1989 movie starring Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts and Sally Field - Steel Magnolias - was filmed right in the same town.
Mackenzie + Wes began their day at the charming and adorable Samuel Guy House. A gorgeous bed and breakfast nestled in between a quiet neighborhood and the oldest cemetery in the Louisiana Purchase (also a filming location for Steel Magnolia). I felt as if my love for girly movies where someone frolics in a meadow at least 15 times, like Pride & Prejudice, and all things spooky and horror collided.
Their ceremony was held at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception followed by an outdoor reception at a nearby location where we ended the night screaming our lungs out to Pink Pony Club.
